...MODERATE BREEZES AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY EXPECTED FOR SEVERAL
HOURS ON THURSDAY...

.A WEAK THERMAL PRESSURE TROUGH ALONG THE COAST WILL LEAD TO
WARMING AND DRYING NORTH AND NORTHEAST WINDS THROUGH FRIDAY.
THURSDAY LOOKS LIKE THE DAY WITH THE MOST CRITICAL COMBINATION OF
LOW HUMIDITY AND MODERATE BREEZES FOR SEVERAL HOURS.

THURSDAY EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY COMBINED WITH A
MODERATE BREEZE FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 650...654...655 AND 657...

* AFFECTED AREA...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 650. FIRE WEATHER ZONE 654.
  FIRE WEATHER ZONE 655. FIRE WEATHER ZONE 657. THIS INCLUDES THE
  NORTH COASTAL LOWLANDS...AS WELL AS THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN
  PUGET SOUND LOWLANDS.

* WIND...NORTH WIND 8 TO 14 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 20 MPH. STRONGEST
  NEAR PUGET SOUND AND ALONG THE I-5 CORRIDOR.

* HUMIDITY...20 PERCENT AND 30 PERCENT FROM MID-DAY THROUGH EARLY
  EVENING ON THURSDAY...BUT SOME SPOTS COULD DROP INTO THE UPPER
  TEENS.

* IMPACTS...A COMBINATION OF A MODERATE BREEZE...LOW RELATIVE
  HUMIDITY AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN CONTRIBUTE TO RAPID RATES OF
  SPREAD AND DOWNWIND SPOTTING ON ANY FIRES THAT GET STARTED. THIS
  APPLIES TO GRASSY ROADSIDE LOCATIONS AS WELL AS FORESTED AREAS.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...FOR THE INTERIOR OF WESTERN WASHINGTON FROM SEATTLE
SOUTHWARD...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 8 PM PDT
FRIDAY.

* TEMPERATURE...HIGH TEMPERATURES THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND FRIDAY
  AFTERNOON WILL BE IN THE UPPER 80S TO MID 90S OVER THE INTERIOR
  OF WESTERN WASHINGTON FROM SEATTLE SOUTHWARD.

* TIMING...THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING AND FRIDAY
  AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...HOT WEATHER INCREASES THE POTENTIAL FOR DEHYDRATION AND
  HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES. THE ELDERLY...THE YOUNG...AND THOSE WHO
  WORK OR EXERCISE OUTDOORS WILL BE THE MOST VULNERABLE TO HEAT
  RELATED ILLNESSES IF EXTRA PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

YOUNG CHILDREN AND PETS SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE DURING WARM OR HOT
WEATHER WHEN CAR INTERIORS CAN REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER
OF MINUTES.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND STROKE.
WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER.

IF YOU PLAN TO GO BOATING TO ESCAPE THE HEAT...WEAR AN APPROVED LIFE
JACKET. DROWNING IS THE CAUSE OF MOST BOATING FATALITIES. ALSO...
AVOID ALCOHOL BECAUSE IT IMPAIRS JUDGMENT.

...RETURN OF VERY WARM TEMPERATURES OVER MUCH OF WESTERN
WASHINGTON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...

A COMBINATION OF A STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE AND
OFFSHORE FLOW WILL RESULT IN ANOTHER ROUND OF VERY WARM
TEMPERATURES FOR MOST OF THE AREA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. INTERIOR
LOWLAND LOCATIONS WILL SEE AFTERNOON HIGHS BOTH DAYS ARE EXPECTED
TO BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 80S WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE SOUTHWEST
INTERIOR EXPECTED TO REACH THE LOW 90S.

COASTAL LOCATIONS USUALLY SPARED FROM THIS LEVEL OF HEAT WILL
ALSO SEE TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S ON THURSDAY...ESPECIALLY ALONG
THE NORTH COAST. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT AMOUNT OF COOLING FRIDAY
AS A GRADUAL SHIFT TO WEAK ONSHORE FLOW WILL START IN THE
AFTERNOON BUT HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL STILL BE IN THE 70S...WITH
MID 70S TO LOW 80S LIKELY ALONG THE NORTH COAST.

THE ELDERLY...THE VERY YOUNG...AND THOSE WITH EXISTING HEALTH
CONCERNS SHOULD REMAIN HYDRATED AND ATTEMPT TO STAY IN A COOL
PLACE DURING THE HEAT OF THE DAY.
